Almost 5,700 guns have been seized at air terminal security designated spots in 2024, the largest number recorded by the Transportation Security Agency (TSA) since its initiation.
An astounding 5,674 weapons were halted in 2024 alone, the office told CBS News on Monday. By far most of weapons — 85% — were stacked with ammo. Air terminals in Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston positioned most noteworthy in seized guns.
“It’s an unequaled high,” TSA Administrator David Pekoske told columnists during a Monday instructions. He said the past excellent grade was 4,400 firearms seized in 2019.
